Another JMB operative arrested from West Bengal’s Murishdabad

Murshidabad, February 6: Again a Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) operative, banned terror outfit in Bangladesh, was arrested on Tuesday from Sagardighi in West Bengal's Murshidabad. National Investigation Agency (NIA) and Special Task Force (STF) of the Kolkata Police ventured into the raid jointly to arrest the terrorist.

Two active members of Jamatul Mujahidin Bangladesh, a banned terror outfit, had been arrested by Kolkata police for the duo’s alleged involvement in Bodh Gaya. Though the blast was a low-intensity one but the Spiritual Leader Dalai Lama was holding a workshop then in the temple town.

Paigamber Seikh has revealed JMB’s active presence in Murshidabad and how he has lead to making 10 units in the district. Each unit has 15 members. Even the outfit has an active presence in Assam. The network of JMB in Bengal is a definite concern for internal security.

The series of arrested JMB members raise concern for West Bengal police. The Islamic extremist JMB's aim is to replace the government of Bangladesh with an Islamic state based on Sharia. This group is involved in various blasts in both w\West Bengal and Bangladesh. Along with an attempt to make West Bengal a safe heaven, it is also trying to expand its network in other border states including Assam.
