Imphal, February 6: Chief Minister N Biren Singh expressed his confidence over Assembly Elections saying that Bhartiya Janata Party will form the government in Tripura and Nagaland. CM N Biren Singh said that “BJP will be way ahead of Left Front of Tripura (IPFT).”

N Biren Singh said that “We’ll surely be ahead of the Left Front in Tripura and will be forming the government with our alliance partner, the Indigenous People’s Front of Tripura (IPFT). People in Tripura want to change like they have seen in Assam and Manipur. Anti-incumbency will be one of the reasons for the Left’s defeat.”

The efforts put in by BJP General Secretary, Ram Madhav and Northeast Democratic Alliance (NEDA) Convenor, Himanta Biswa Sarma, would ensure the party’s victory in Tripura, he added.

CM was also confident that his party would form the government in Nagaland with support from the newly formed National Democratic People’s Party (NDPP), led by former CM and Lok Sabha MP Neiphiu Rio.

While concerning for Meghalaya, there’s a chance of a post-poll alliance with the National People’s Party (NPP). We know what happened in last year’s Manipur assembly polls. There is very much a possibility of doing a Manipur in Meghalaya this time, Singh added.

The Legislative Assembly election, 2018 will be held on February 18 in Tripura and February 27 in Nagaland and Meghalaya. Counting of votes in all three states will take place on March 3.
