Florida, February 7: The most powerful, the heaviest rocket of the world has reached space making history. The private space company SpaceX successfully launched its Falcon Heavy rocket from the Kennedy Space Center of united states.

The newly launched rocket is most powerful among current operatives and second only in strength to the Apollo-era leviathans that took crews to the moon. Incidentally, NASA's towering Saturn 5 rockets to carry Apollo missions was launched from the same site 40 years ago.

Falcon Heavy is carrying CEO Elon Musk's cherry red Tesla roadster to an orbit near Mars. The epic car is heading into an elliptical Earth-Mars orbit. As this launch was an uncertain and as well as experimental, Musk used the Tesla car to reduce the payload.

After the launch two of Falcon Heavy's boosters roared back to NASA"s Kennedy Space Center in Florida but the third one, the middle core of the Falcon Heavy which attempted to land at a drone ship off the coast of Florida but missed it.

"It can launch things directly to Pluto and beyond. Don't even need gravity assist or anything," Musk said. The total SpaceX investment was over $500 million dollars to develop Falcon Heavy. Initially, the launch was supposed to take place in 2013 but the difficulties lingered the launch.
