Mumbai/Jaipur, February 7: Makers of Kananga Ranaut starrer Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi has clarified that allegations levelled by the Sarva Brahman Mahasabha’s Suresh Mishra were baseless and described as a deliberate attempt to mislead the people after the unruly controversy over Sanjay Lila Bhansali’s Paadmavat. Rubbishing all the points raised by one social group, Producer Kamal Jain stated that the period drama will depict the courageous tale of Rani Laxmi Bai where makers are taking care of every small aspect in order to maintain the sanity of story.

As reported by Hindustan Times, Jain informed that during pre-production stage, various historians and scholars were consulted. He also admitted that makers are ready to share the script with protestors. Currently, makers are canning some crucial shots in Rajasthan and after two schedules, shooting will be wrapped up.

Earlier, a local outfit called Sarva Brahman Mahasabha expressed reservations about the content of Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi and accused makers of distorting historical facts. Lashing out at Mishra, Jain expressed concern over the statements made against the film where he questioned the intention of alleged protestors. Describing Rani Laxmibai as one of the greatest leaders of India, Jain said that Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi would be a tribute to the great sacrifice of Rani Laxmibai.

The mulita-starrer epic drama is being helmed by director Krish Jagarlamudi and produced by Kamal Jain in association with Zee Studios. Baahubali writer V Vijayedra Prasad has penned the story whereas lyrics and dialogues will be crafted by Prasoon Joshi.
