Pyongyang, February 8: Crushing the expectation of a probable US-North Korea talk during winter Olympics, DPRK has denied such talk. As high-level delegation from the US and North Korea both the countries are participating in Winter Olympics, it was expected that the two opposing forces could have a talk.

However, North Korea has denied the possibility that its high-level delegation to the PyeongChang Olympics will meet with US Vice President Mike Pence. “We’ve never begged for dialogue with the U.S. and it will be the same now and forever,” Jo Yong Sam, a senior foreign ministry official said. “We clearly state that we don’t have the willingness to meet the U.S. side during the period of visiting South Korea,” he added.

On the other hand, “To that end, I’m announcing today that the United States of America will soon unveil the toughest and most aggressive round of economic sanctions on North Korea ever,” US VP Pence said though he and state secretary Rex Tillerson both did not rule out the possibility of holding a talk with North Korea.

Earlier, North Korea offered to send Kim Jong Un’s younger sister as a member of its high-level delegation for the PyeongChang Winter Olympics which was highly welcomed by Seoul. Kim Jong-un’s influential sister will attend the opening ceremony of the Winter Olympics in South Korea on Friday, Seoul’s unification ministry has said.
