UAE delegation calls on Maharashtra CM, says ready to invest in any sector

Mumbai, Feb 8: Investment opportunities galore in Maharashtra. Because of the availability of quality infrastructure facilities global investors and companies are giving first preference to Maharashtra. You start any enterprise, you are welcome here, said Chief Minister Devendra Fadanvis while talking to visiting United Arab Emirate (UAE) delegation today.

Chief of the UAE delegation and Chairman of Abu Dhabi Economic Development Department Saif Mohammad Ali Hajeri reciprocated saying they were ready to invest in any sector.

The UAE delegation headed by Ali Hajeri called on Chief Minister Devendra Fadanvis on Thursday at his official ‘Varsha’ residence in Mumbai. CM’s Addl Chief Secretary Pravin Singh Pardeshi, CEO of MIDC Sanjay Sethi, Chairman of Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce Mohammad Thani Murshad Al Rumaithi, Project Manager of Abu Dhabi Government Communication Yusuf Ali M A, Adib Ahmad, DG of Chamber Mohammad H L Muheri, Ambassador of Abu Dhabi Dr Ahmad Albana, Commercial Representative Ahmad Sultan Alfllahi were present on the occasion.

The Chief Minister briefed the visiting delegation on schemes and projects going on in Maharashtra. He said that Maharashtra is the investment destination. Metro Railway work is progressing in Mumbai, Nagpur and Pune. Work on various projects worth $15 million are going on in Mumbai besides $10 million works are proposed. He also briefed them about Super Express Way, Mumbai-Nagpur Samruddhi Mahamarg, Mumbai Trans-harbour Link, and Metro railway.

The Chief Minister told the visiting delegation that the state government has taken decisions that would benefit the investors and encourage industries. You invest any sector, Maharashtra Government is ready to help you promptly, Fadanvis assured them. He also told them about the proposed ‘Magnetic Maharashtra’ summit scheduled from Feb 18 and invited the investors of Abu Dhabi to participate in the event.

Delegation leader Ali Hajeri said that they were interested in investing in various industries including hotel, mall, infrastructure, finance, housing, dry port sectors in Maharashtra and Mumbai. We are more interested in strengthening relations between the two countries, especially with Maharashtra, he added further. He showered praises on India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi and declared that they will be celebrating ‘Abu Dhabi Week’ in India soon.

Describing Chief Minister Devendra Fadanvis as a working CEO of a state, Chairman of Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce Rumaithi said that they would prefer direct investment over signing MoUs about investments.
