New Delhi, February 9: A fake website in the name of Reserve Bank of India (RBI) is trying to make citizens fool. Noticing the fraudulent activity, RBI has issued a warning about the fake site to prevent people falling into the cheater’s trap.

The fake website of the RBI has been created with the URL www.indiareserveban.org. The brain behind it is still unknown. The more alarming fact is it has a layout similar to the original site. The first page contains a provision called Bank verification with online account holders which appears to have been created with a fraudulent intent of obtaining confidential information of customers.

Further, in the statement, RBI has clarified it never holds accounts for individuals as well as never asks for personal information. Hence it has clearly warned using any crucial information like password, bank account details might lead to major financial loss of individuals.

The members of public have also been cautioned about the existence of websites like www.rbi.org and www.rbi.in. which appear similar to sites of RBI. But RBI has never affiliated such information. So, the public should be aware while sharing any bank details to such sites.
