West Bengal Governor asks TMC leaders to stop mudslinging the Raj Bhavan, introspect own action instead

Kolkata, February 9: West Bengal Governor, Keshari Nath Tripathi, vexed with unjustified Trinamool Congress(TMC) allegations asked the party leaders to stop the smear campaign against the Governor's office. The governor said rather they should introspect their own actions.

State Parliamentary Affairs Minister Partha Chatterjee accused him of flouting the Constitution and bypassing the state government. Along with him other TMC leaders also attacked the honourable governor for writing a letter to the Malda Divisional Commissioner asking him to hold a meeting on administrative matters.

The letter directed the official to convene a meeting on law and order and development schemes of the state and central governments in the district bordering Bangladesh. TMC's chief national spokesperson Derek O'Brien said that Tripathi could not act unilaterally.

"Enough harsh words have been said. They should stop throwing mud on the office of the Governor. They should go to the washroom. Look at their faces in the mirror and remove that dirt from their faces," Governor Tripathi said responding to the allegations.

"The governor has tarnished his post by writing a letter (to the official). It is against the Constitution. We condemn such action. We respect him as the constitutional head, but we will not accept such action under any circumstances," TMC Minister Partha Chatterjee said earlier.
