Great batsman Kevin Pietersen plans to protect animals in India

Raipur, March 1: Former England cricketer Kevin Pietersen met Chhattisgarh chief minister Raman Singh at his residence in Chhattisgarh capital and said that he wants to work for protection and conservation of wild buffaloes and hill myna bird.

Pietersen informed Chief Minister that he has formed an organization named 'Saroi' for safety and conservation of rare and extinct wild animals. He informed that he came to know about the rate wild buffalo and hill myna of Chhattisgarh. His organization wants to help in safety and conservation of these rare species. 

Chief Minister Singh appreciated the efforts being made by his organization for this wonderful cause of conserving the rare wild species of wild animals and birds.

Raman Singh said that wild buffalo of Chhattisgarh is an extremely rare species. It is the State Animal of Chhattisgarh. Wild buffaloes are left few in numbers in Chhattisgarh. Likewise, hill mynah is also an extremely rare species of bird, which has been declared as State Bird.

He added that this bird can mimic the human voice. Chief Minister informed Peterson about the efforts being made for safety and conservation of wild buffalo and hill myna.

On invitation of Chief Minister, Peterson visited Jungle Safari and praised the measures taken by State Government for safety and conservation of rare wild species. In the meeting, Peterson gifted a cap of 'Saroi' and a cricket bad to Chief Minister Dr Singh.

Wild buffaloes and hill myna bird are considered as rare and are on a verge of becoming extinct. An organisation called ‘Saroi’, which will be working for the protection of rare species, was set up by him.
