Rajnath Singh refutes Congress charges; says CBI is doing its job

New Delhi/ Guwahati, March 1: Reacting to the criticism of Congress, Union Minister Rajnath Singh said that investigative agency CBI is doing its job. Referring to the Karti Chidambaram's arrest, the senior Minister stated that CBI is a credible investigating agency and it’s not good to question the intentions of the top agency.

Earlier, Congress party had accused BJP government of influencing CBI investigation against the son of former Union Minister P Chidambaram. Yesterday Karti Chidambaram was taken into custody for his alleged involvement in INX Media money laundering case.

AICC Communications In-charge Randeep Singh Surjewala targeted Narendra Modi led BJP government for indulging in political vendetta against the family members of senior Congress Leader P Chidambaram. Surjewala went on saying that top agencies like CBI & ED are being used to divert attention from relevant issues.

In INX Media money laundering case, senior Congress leader Abhishek Manu Singhvi is pleading for Karti whereas Additional Solicitor-General of India Tushar Mehta is appearing for CBI as the special public prosecutor.
