'Safe Maternity' Campaign treats 3.77 expecting mothers in Chhattisgarh

Raipur, March 13: Prime Minister Safe Maternity Campaign is proving to be a boon for Chhattisgarh state. As a result of better implementation of this scheme by Health and Family Welfare Department, till date three lakh 77 thousand pregnant women have been examined and provided medical treatment.

It is noteworthy that under this scheme, pregnant women are provided free medicines, after check-up. Services of private doctors are are taken under this scheme. Health Department officials informed that under Prime Minister Safe Maternity Campaign, check-up of more than 12 thousand pregnant women was done on March 9.

Including which, till date check-up and treatment of nearly three lakh 77 thousand women has been done. Under this campaign, pregnant women are provided free of cost facility of sonography, blood test, urine test, blood pressure, sugar etc.

Officials informed that on 9th of every month, pregnant women come for their registration and check-up. Pregnant women with high health risk are referred to premium institutions. Pregnant women are provided IFA medicine, folic tablet, calcium tablet and vitamin D3 medicines free of cost.
