Subramanian Swamy urges SC to intervene in Centre’s mandatory Aadhaar policy

New Delhi, March 13: Senior BJP leader Subramanian Swamy once again took a dig at Modi government’s ambitious project of Aadhar. Commenting on the existing ecosystem of mandatory Aadhaar linkage, Swamy took to Twitter and urged apex court to postpone the process to have more clarity on the contentious issue. The senior Rajya Sabha MP opined that mandatory requirement should be postponed by SC to beyond May 2019.

Known for his critical approach, the veteran economist had already expressed reservations about the Aadhaar based flagship programme of Central government. The former union minister went on saying that mandatory Aadhaar policy could be detrimental to national security.
