Mumbai, March 14: Maharashtra government is going to make such a law soon, after which those who sell adulterated milk will be restrained. The government will punish such people for a maximum of three years, on which there will be no provision of bail.

If this bill is passed in the assembly, then Maharashtra will become the first state in the country, where the sale of adulterated milk will be provided for strict punishment.

State Food Minister Girish Bapat said that the state government is working on this and amendment will be done in the law. Now, there is a provision of six months punishment for adulterants in Maharashtra, although the accused gets bail.

Bapat said that vans of Milk transported in various parts of the state will be tested properly and deeply.

Most of the members in the Assembly had demanded life imprisonment for those who do so, which was turned down considering the difficulties in implementing them. BJP member Amit Satam said that in Mumbai alone, 30 percent adulterated milk is supplied. He informed the assembly that if the punishment period is extended to three years, the accused will not have the scope of bail.
