Jharkhand on the mode to make the state drought free

Ranchi, March 15: A high-level meeting between the Central Government and the State Government of Jharkhand discussed on the irrigation project Kanahar Barrage.

During this time a presentation was also presented. In this project, Barge will be made in Khoori village of Ranka block of Garhwa district. This barrage will have 17.10 km long main canal, which will go to Lavadoni, where a dam will be built. Whose maximum water level is 308 meters. This dam will have two canals, respectively, left and right main canals. Which will be 82.22 and 46.97 km long.

With this project, 53,283 hectares will be irrigated in the area, a Pratappur branch canal will emerge from the left canal, which will be 25.7 km long. This project will have irrigation in 53,283 hectare area (CCA). This plan will prove to be a boon for drought-affected Garhwa district.

Chanpur block of 10 blocks Garhwa, Meral, Ramna, Dandai, Nagarati, Bishnupura, Kandi, Majiiv, Katar, Bhawanathpur and Palamu districts of Garhwa district will be benefited from this project. In this project, water will be provided for drinking and new industries purpose. Altogether, 27 lakhs 40 thousand people will get the benefit. From this project, giving additional water to many reservoirs, reservoirs and ponds, will make the entire area drought free.

The biggest feature of this project is that one person will not be displaced from its submergence area. The present cost of the project is Rs. 1908 crores, which has been approved today by the Advisory Committee of the Central Government. This is a huge achievement for Jharkhand. The meeting was attended by the Chairman of the Central Water Commission, including the Central Office Finance Ministry, Ministry of Power, Ministry of Agriculture, Forest and Environment Ministry and senior officers of the Policy Commission.
