Enabling the reach of science to society, PM Modi to unfurl Indian Science Congress in Manipur

Imphal, March 16: Encouraging the young talent to illustrate their creativity and talent before the nation, Manipur is all set to host the Indian Science Congress for the first time. The session will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Manipur University.

The five-day Science Congress is an annual gathering of science professionals from across the globe. The theme of this year’s edition of the Science Congress is “Reaching the Unreached through Science and Technology.”

The 105 session of the Indian Science Congress is set to be inaugurated today. Along with this, PM Modi has also been scheduled to inaugurate several projects and address a public reception function. Imphal will become the second city to host this event in the North-East.

The Prime Minister is visiting Manipur a day after completion of one year of the BJP-led coalition government in the state today. Security in the state, particularly in Imphal town and the places where PM Modi will visit and lay down foundation stones, have been beefed up.
 
At Luwangshangbam, Modi would inaugurate Luwangpokpa Multi-Sports Complex, ST Girls Hostel (Liberal College) and Rani Gaidinliu Park (Mantripukhri). He would also lay foundation stones for several projects including National Sports University, 15 transit accommodations for doctors and teachers, 1000 Anganwadi Centres and lot more.

The session focuses on fostering translational science for promoting affordable sustainable innovation. During the five days, thrust will be given on various science disciplines, which has reached to the society.
