Embarking a glorious future through science, PM Modi inaugurates the Indian Science Congress Conference

Imphal, March 16: Embarking a glorious future to the country with dedicated efforts by the scientists, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Indian Science Congress Session in Manipur University today. This is the second time that the Indian Science Congress is being held in the North-East. It only proves and sights the resurgent spirit of the North East.

 
Addressing the session Modi emphasized that it is the time when the country can redefine the concept of ‘R&D’ as ‘Research’ for the Development. Science has the ability and by all means has a far greater end makng differences in the lives of others and bringing welfare and human progress.
 

PM Modi urged the scientists in the conference to showcase their achievements to lay a path of communication to society. This will help inculcate scientific attitude among youth. To encourage the young generation, there is a need to open institutions and laboratories for the children. There is also a need to develop a mechanism for interaction with school children.

 

In order to enable the young generation to attain the importance of science and lead way for new inventions, one such leads to the Ethno Medical Research Center’. This center will allow the research attempts on wild herbs in the North East region. This will allow a verifiable research on the unique aromatic and medicinal properties of the herbs. In this regard, there are almost 7 State Climate Change Centers in North East regions.

 

Further Pm Modi said that Indian scientists are striving hard to accomplish their dream and the Government has given a nod to establish the 3rd LIGO detector in the country. This will however be a beneficiary to the society as it will permit the expansion of knowledge in the concepts of basic sciences, lasers and computing.

 

Leading the country as a leader in the multi-country Solar Alliance and in Mission Innovation, the country is committed to increase the non-fossil fuel based capacity in the electricity above 40% by the year 2030. This is however providing a pushing drive to the clean energy generation.

 

Apart from this the government has set a goal to set up 100GW of installed solar power by the year 2022. Citing the details that currently the efficiency of solar modules in the country are around 17%-18%, the PM urged scientists to take it as a challenge and come up with new ideas and technologies to come up with more efficient solar module.

 

Modi has however dreamt of crafting a future that helps in implementing the technologies which are considered vital for the growth and prosperity of the country. Technological advancements will however lead to enable services in the society under education, healthcare and banking sectors.

Further, he also emphasized on approving the Prime Minister’s Research Fellowship scheme which has brought together powerhouse of talent and bright future from the IIT sectors and will allow admission in the PhD Scholarship admissions.
 

India is well versed and has a rich tradition in the field of science and innovation. PM Modi urges the scientific youths to reclaim our position in this field and brighten the future of the country.
