Bonhomie ends; TDP quits the NDA: 10 parties to move the no-confidence motion against Modi govt

Amaravati, March 16: Ending the bonhomie, TDP leader Chandrababu Naidu has finally decided to quit the NDA when the next LokSabha polls are only 12 months away. The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) today decided to quit the NDA citing the reason behind its unrest as the Centre's refusal to grant Special Category Status to Andhra Pradesh but the post announcement scenarion suggests that its more political blamegame than the care of Andhra Pradesh.

 

TDP's official communique states that the party will also move a no-confidence motion against the Modi government over the injustice meted out to the state. Union ministers -P Ashok Gajapati Raju and Y S Chowdary - had quit on March 8 after a meeting with the prime minister.

The TDP politburo unanimously took the decision during a tele-conference with party supremo and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu this morning. The Telugu Desam Parliamentary Party will issue a notice to move the no-trust motion today, it said. Sixteen TDP MPs would now submit a notice on moving the no-confidence motion to the Lok Sabha Secretary General.

Sensing the opportunity to destabilise the BJP govt, 10 political political parties including Congress. TMC, TDP, TRS, YSR Congress, CPM, AAP, CPI, RJD, and All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (MIM) have announced their support to the No Confidence motion.

YSR Congress Party chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has said that his party moves the No Confidence Motion against the Central Government. For the rights of the people of Andhra Pradesh. 'We will continue our fight for the Special Category Status," adds YSjagan.

MIM chief #MIM party chief Asaduddin Owaisi says that his party will support the No Confidence motion in Lok Sabha today not only for failure on part of Modi Govt to implement State Reorganisation Act but failure to fulfill their promise to provide employment to youth & for injustice to Muslim Women and Minorities.

The TDP will write a letter to BJP president Amit Shah and also other constituents of the NDA informing its decision and the reasons for it, the communique said.
