Uplifting the OBC and economically backward class, Odisha announces 100 hostel facilities

Bhubaneswar, March 17: Enabling facilities to the backward class and other section of the society leads in giving the state service a pushing force to do something good. On similar lines, Odisha has announced that the government will provide hostel facilities for 10,000 students belonging to Other Backward Class and socially and Economically Backward Class.

The Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik announced opening of 100 numbers of 100-seater hostels for 10,000 OBC/SEBC students by the State government in 14 major educational centres of the State. These hostels will be constructed at an outlay of about Rs 185 crore.

It is noted that all students of parents with an income of less than Rs 1 lakh per annum pursuing higher studies in government and government aided and private educational institutions will be eligible for admission into these hostels.

However, selection of the students will be made on merit basis. Availing these facilities for the people pertaining to the backward class and economically backward class helps to uplift some section. Initiating this will enable to uplift the people of the state.

Providing essential requirements to the people of the state is an important and vital responsibility of the officials. Making feasible initiatives and implementing it thoroughly is something that the authorities always imply on.
