New Delhi, March 19: Reacting strongly to Congress President Rahul Gandhi's statement to compare Kauravas to BJP and his own party Pandavas, BJP leader ad Raksha Mantri Nirmala Sitharaman has asked : who is deciding that Congress is Pandava? Puncturing Rahul's logic, Sitharaman asks the Congress scion as how can he claim the Congress as Pandavas if his own party raises questions about the existence of Shri Ram". Nirmala Sitharaman described Rahul Gandhi's statement as a hollow rhetoric.

The BJP leder was reacting to Rahul Gandhi's address at the Congress Plenary session on Sunday, where the Congress President refered Mahabharata to accuse RSS and BJP by comparing the organisations to 'Kauravas'. The Gandhi scion slammed the BJP and RSS for destroying institutions, dividing society and generating fear and hatred.

Nirmala Sitharaman said that the party who has been raising questions about the existence of Lord Rama and has been taunting Hindu customs and Hindus are saying this like this. She said that Congress party carried out Sikh riots. This party was involved in corruption of millions of crores. This party imposed Emergency. This party cries on the dead bodies of the terrorists killed. She said the party which raises questions about the existence of Shri Ram, is calling himself Pandava today. Rahul Gandhi has insulted the Hindus.

"I have never heard of a ‘Congress' priest and a ‘BJP' priest, but Rahul Gandhi has narrated a whole story on that, just as a way to mock Hindus and Hinduism," she said.

Rahul Gandhi also said in his speech that the name "Modi" has become a symbol of corruption. During this time, he mentioned Neerav Modi and Lalit Modi, who left the country. In response, Nirmala Sitharaman said that in such a scenario, Rahul Gandhi shares his surname with the Father of the Nation (Mahatma Gandhi). But his name does not seem to have any impact on Rahul. I did not want to name the Father of the nation, but I had to do this.

Rahul Gandhi, in his speech, told BJP national president Amit Shah of being the accused of murder. Nirmala Sitharaman said on this, the BJP president has been declared as innocent by the court. This is totally fake and false propaganda by this person, who himself is on bail in the case of Criminal Conspiracy in the National Herald Case. At the same time, BJP leader and Union Law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad termed Rahul Gandhi's speech as embarrassing. He said Rahul Gandhi spoke in an irresponsible way to the judiciary.
