Piyush Goyal appeals students to come ahead as Railways rolls out fresh applications for recruitment

Mumbai, March 20: Railway Minister Piyush Goyal appealed to the students to come ahead and fill the fresh forms for job recruitments in Railways. Today the Mumbai’s came to halt as students belonging to Railway Apprenticeship Union came on tracks to protests demanding one-time settlement from GM quota and jobs from the government.

Ministry of Railway released a press statement which stated that Railways has come out with a policy to ensure a fair, transparent & competitive recruitment process. Railways has reserved 20% posts for ‘Course Completed Act Apprentices’ along with an age relaxation equal to the period of apprenticeship, which will benefit them in the exam.

 

Indian Railways is currently in the midst of a massive recruitment exercise and has come out with a policy to ensure a fair, transparent and competitive recruitment process that follows the law and the guidelines laid down by Supreme Court, the press release stated.

Railway Ministry said that they have already reserved 20% posts for ‘Course Completed Act Apprentices’ who were engaged in Railway establishments under the Apprenticeship Act. This has been done as per the Section[22] of the Apprentices Act and the various judgements pronounced by the Honorable SC from time to time. Applicants who completed the Apprenticeship course have also been given an age relaxation equal to the period of apprenticeship.

This is the single largest recruitment ever undertaken by any organization in India and also the largest opportunity for all sections of youth, including the apprentices to join the Indian Railway in a very transparent and fair manner.

Further Piyush Goyal, Railway Minister appealed to the young students to come and apply for this recruitment and the application date ends on 31-3-2018. He further urged students to join the process of recruitment to serve the country.
