Himachal CM Jai Ram Thakur flags off CB-NATT mobile van for eradication of TB

Mandi, March 25: Yesterday, the whole country including Himachal Pradesh vowed to eradicate the deadly disease Tuberculosis (TB) by 2025 on the occasion of World TB Day. Notably, a high voltage campaign was launched in the Himachal Pradesh by Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur under the 'Mukhya Mantri Kshay Rog Nivaran Yojna' at Una in a bid to eradicate TB by 2025.

 

On this occasion, CM Jai Ram Thakur also flagged off CB-NATT mobile van which will be driven to spread awareness amongst the Himachalis about the Tuberculosis (TB). Taking a step further, CM Jai Ram Thakur stated that eradication of TB by 2025 requires concerted efforts by one and all.

He said that once TB was considered as an incurable disease was now curable and it only required proper and timely treatment. The Chief Minister also noted that the health department has done a considerable work in spreading awareness regarding this disease. The social stigma of taboo against this disease has also been removed to a great extent,” the CM added.

The CM noted that the awareness was vital for the eradication of TB from our society. He also appealed the Department for working with dedication and committedly to eradicate TB and make it a history. Jai Ram Thakur also reiterated that State Government would provide all possible amount to the department for complete eradication of TB.

The Chief Minister released booklet on TB eradication programme on this occasion. He also gave away prizes to the students of nursing college on the occasion.

The State Health Minister Vipin Parmar said that the Government was committed to eradicate TB by the Year 2025 in the State. He said that the motto is 'United End TB'. The State was better than other States in respect of providing quality TB treatment to the people and Himachal Pradesh will be first in the country. He said Rs. two crore has been made in the budget for the eradication of TB. “Himachal Pradesh was the first State in the country who launched this programme,” he concluded.
