Manu Bhaker shots a ‘bullseye’ in ISSF Junior World Cup; grabs Gold

Sydney, March 25: Young Indian sensational shooter Manu Bhaker grabbed a Gold medal at the ISSF Junior World Cup on Saturday which is being held in Sydney, Australia. Notably, in the tournament, this was India’s second individual gold medal.

 

The 16-year-old shooter Manu Bhaker won the gold medal after prevailing over Thailand’s Kanyakorn Hirunphoem at the very last shot and made the whole country proud. After leading in the finals by 2.2 points, Manu Bhaker fired six consecutive shots outside the 10th ring, suddenly went down by one point behind Hirunphoem with only two shots left to fire.

However, Bhaker displaying an impressive performance earned 9.6-9.8 points led her to seal the Gold medal. Manu finished with the score of 235.9 points, while Hirunphoem who previously wrote a new qualification world record with 576 points took silver with 234.9. On the other side, in the 10m air pistol men's event, Gaurav Rana won a silver medal while Anmol Jain grabbed the bronze.

Meanwhile, India's Cheema, Rana and Anmol bagged the team gold, beating Liu, Wang and Tang who claimed silver for China and Jawanda, Arya and Adarsh Singh who won bronze for India. Earlier, in the ISSF World Cup which held in Mexico Manu Bhaker bagged a Gold medal
