Agartala, March 3: Bhartiya Janata Party conquers a thriving victory in Tripura by dethroning 25 years of Left government. With 40 seats BJP has throned up Tripura while Left’s CPI is marching with 19 seats.

Results for Northeastern states Tripura, Nagaland and Meghalaya will be declared in a short today as Election Commission has begun counting of votes today early morning amidst tight security. Battle has set high between Bhartiya Janata Party, Left’s Communist Party, Congress and other parties in NE states.

A very close fight between BJP and Left suggests the early trends as BJP is leading with 40 seats while Left is leading with 19.

In Meghalaya early trends show Congress leading with 21 seats followed by NPP with 17 seats while BJP is leading with 6.

Meanwhile in Nagaland BJP is again leading with 29 seats followed by NPF with 26 and Congress is heading ahead with 1.

Expressing confidence over the elections Minister of State for Home Affairs Kiren Rijiju said that election of Nagaland is very important; we believe that we will form our government in Nagaland. Our alliance will have good seats. Congress will not be nominated in Nagaland. Other parties together with BJP in Nagaland will form government.

Tripura went to the polls on 18 February and elections were held in Nagaland and Meghalaya on 27 February. Though the strength of each assembly is 60, voting was held for 59 constituencies in all the three states.

Bhartiya Janata Party BJP is giving strong tug in all the three states as the ongoing results portray the possibility of dethroning Left government in Tripura which ruled for around 25 years. Also BJP’s strength is amalgamating in Nagaland and Meghalaya as the Naga People’s Front (NFP) has been in power in Nagaland since 2003 and Congress has been ruling Meghalaya for 10 years.
