Rishikesh has become the Yoga capital of the world: CM Rawat

Dehradun, March 3: With around 2000 participants and Yoga Acharyas from across 90 countries, International Yoga Festival was kicked off on Thursday. CM Rawat inaugurated this occasion saying “It is due to the efforts of Prime Minister Narendra Modi that International Yoga Day is celebrated across the world on June 21 every year. Today India is giving the message of peace to the world through the ancient art.”

He said Rishikesh had become the yoga capital of the world. He called upon the organizers to ensure that the participants from abroad were provided all facilities during their stay in Rishikesh. Vice President Venkaiah Naidu will also be speaking on the seven days occasion.

 

The programme offers an extensive schedule of possibility, starting with Kundalini sadhana at 4 a.m. for the intensely committed and ending at 9:30 pm with traditional cultural song and dance, kirtan and enlightened entertainment on the banks of Ganga. Another attraction in the state government’s yoga festival will be a performance on March 6 by The Fab Four, a rock band from Liverpool which will pay a tribute to The Beatles on the 50th anniversary of their famous Rishikesh tour. A special attraction of the Parmarth Niketan festival will be the presence Tibetan spiritual guru Dalai today.
