India Japan friendship blessed with huge potential for growth says Shinzo Abe after Sushma Swaraj meets Japanese PM

Tokyo, March 30: Strengthening Indo-Japan ties, External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj called on Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and conveyed the greetings of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Echoing similar vibes, Shinzo Abe said that India Japan traditional friendship is characterized by heart-to-heart bonds and blessed with a huge potential for growth.

Last night EAM Sushma Swaraj and Foreign Minister of Japan Taro Kono chaired the 9th India-Japan Foreign Ministers’ Strategic Dialogue today giving impetus to strengthen the relations between the two countries.

 

Addressing the meeting External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj discussed with media the various arenas India and Japan will cater in order to solidify the partnership. Having a positive outlook pertaining to the relations various aspects have brought the two countries together. Making a major emphasis on the meeting of Prime Minister Narendra Modi with Japan PM Shinzo Abe have cemented the relations, looking back at the warm relations between India and Japan, by building on old legacy and cementing the shared values of democracy, individual freedom & rule of law.

Also the agreements signed between both the countries saw the light of development partnership between both the nations. Synergizing technological and human resources, the Japan-India Institute of Manufacturing is collaboration between governments of India and Japan along with Japanese companies to create a pool of skilled manpower for manufacturing units in India.

On the sidelines of the strategic dialogue, the two countries also signed documents related to infrastructure projects like Mumbai Metro, Sea Water desalination plant in Chennai and Himachal Pradesh Forest Ecosystem Management among others.

On Wednesday External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj touched down Tokyo for her three-day visit to Japan and addressed Indian Diaspora.

The MEA further said that the visit of Japanese Prime Minister to India in 2017 gave 'fresh impetus' to the bilateral ties between the two countries. "Bilateral relations have been strengthened in diverse sectors in recent years. The visit of Prime Minister Shinzo Abe to India in September 2017 has given fresh impetus to the ties," the MEA said.
