Mysuru, March 31: "Congress has become the symbol of ‘Corruption’, and hence people of Karnataka have made up their minds to change Siddaramaiah government," said Bhartiya Janata Party Chief Amit Shah today. On Friday, BJP Chief Amit Shah kicked started his 2-day Mysuru campaigning for upcoming Karnataka Assembly Elections 2018.

Addressing the press conference, Amit Shah said that the Karnataka government led by Siddaramaiah is the ATM of corruption for Congress party. I have not seen a government as insensitive as this, which disappointingly says that farmer suicides are part of a conspiracy.

Congress’s playing minority status card for Lingayat community to prevent B.S. Yeddyurappa from becoming Chief Minister of Karnataka, Amit Shah added.

Prior to addressing, Amit Shah took blessing of Lord Hanuman on the occasion of Hanuman Jayanti at Kote Sri Anjaneya Swamy Temple in Mysuru.

On Friday, Amit Shah took a dig at leadership of CM Siddaramaiah saying there are multiple fronts on which CM Siddaramaiah has failed his own constituency. Mandya-Mysuru region has one of the highest farmer suicide rates in the state. Last year, there were more than 265 infant deaths in just 7 months in Mysuru district.

Highlighting PM Modi’s efforts, Amit Shah said that Mysuru is just 140 Km away from the state capital, yet it has failed to attract any major investments. In 5 years, CM did nothing to fulfill his promise to widen Mysuru-Bengaluru roadway. It was PM Modi who fulfilled this long standing demand with a new 8-lane road.

Prior to this, during the campaigning, Amit Shah strongly condemned the political and brutal killings of BJP-RSS workers. He said “I strongly condemn the cycle of violence unleashed against BJP-RSS karyakartas under the watch of Siddaramaiah government and assure the families of all 24 victims who have been killed that the culprits will not be spared at any cost once BJP forms the government in the state.”
