New Delhi, March 5: Controlling pollution has become an important agenda for the officials because of the over raging air pollution causing tremendous problems to the masses. In this regard, the Supreme Court appointed Environment Pollution Authority which smacked the Haryana and Uttar Pradesh Government (NCR) for delaying setting up air quality monitoring stations in the two states.
Inspite of setting up dates for monitoring the air quality, the officials have remained ignorant. The court had ordered the two states to speed up the process of setting up the monitoring stations to ensure the entire network to be strong. During the meeting on Wednesday, that they have officially informed the authorities of the two states over the missed deadlines and have asked them to meet the set target.
The capital, meanwhile, has 24 stations operating currently; however, nearly 20 are yet to be connected to the CPCB’s (Central Pollution Control Board) website.
