Amravati, March 5: Andhra Pradesh Governor ESL Narasimhan has urged Central government to address the contentious issue of 'Special Category Status' to Andhra Pradesh. Address the Budget session of the Andhra Pradesh assembly, Narasimhan recounted the hardships faced by people of Andhra Pradesh after the tragic and unfair bifurcation of the erstwhile Andhra Pradesh.

Underscoring the importance of provisions incorporated in the Andhra Pradesh Reorganization Act, the Andhra Pradesh has requested concern stakeholder to give justice to the people of the newly carved coastal state.Commenting on the existing status of Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act 2014, Narasimhan maintained that Centre has to fulfill commitments of 'Special Category Status' in order to fine-tune the development process for several projects like Polavaram and special Railway zone.

Incidentally, soon after the presentation of Union Budget 2018-19, Chandra Babu Naidu’s Telugu Desam Party has locked horns with its Junior partner BJP for not addressing the key issues of Andhra Pradesh even after several interactions with top BJP leaders. On the other hand, opposition parties like Congress, YSR Congress also criticizing Narendra Modi led NDA government for betraying the people of AP.
