Training camps to be setup in Punjab for spreading awareness in farmers about new techniques of agriculture

Chandigarh, March 3: To bring awareness in the farmers about the new techniques and methods to get maximum produce and better quality of Kharif crops with less expenditure, the Punjab government is all set to organize district level farmer training Camps and seminars.

 

The official spokesperson of the Punjab government while disclosing this said that such agro programs/seminars would be organized in the grain markets across the state at district level to make the farmers aware about latest agro based technologies and use of only recommended pesticides and insecticides. 'Agriculture equipments and seed exhibitions would also be displayed in these camps,' he added.

The spokesperson further added that experts from various universities and renowned agricultural organizations would provide valuable information about how to get optimum production and how to control diseases of Kharif crops.

The agriculture camps would start from March 15. As per the programme Camp at Gurdaspur on march 15, Jalandhar on march 16, Hoshiarpur and Pathankot on march 19, Kapurthala on march 20, Mukatsar on march 21, Ludhiana and Barnala on march 22, nawashehar and mohali on march 23, ferozpur on march 26, fatehgarh sahib and tarantaaran on march 27, Ropar on march 28,Patiala and fazilka on march 29 , Sangrur on march 30 and Faridkot on march 31. Similarly, Mansa and Moga on April 2, Amritsar on April 3 and at Bathinda April 4.

Giving details about the other Agriculture fairs which would be organized by Punjab agriculture university (PAU) and on Farmers day would be organized at Ballowal Saukhri on march 6, Amritsar and Faridkot on march 8, Gurdaspur on march 14, Rauni (Patiala) on march 19 , PAU, Ludhiana on march 23 and 24 where as at Bathinda on march 27.
