Nagpur, Mar 8: Increasing support is visible from almost all the sections of the society and it has reflected in growth of RSS shakhas country-wide, observed RSS Prachar Pramukh Dr Manmohan Vaidya here on Thursday.

Addressing media persons on the eve of the three-day conclave of Akhil Bharatiya Pratinidhi Sabha (ABPS) the highest decision-making body of the RSS, Dr Vaidya said that the three-day meeting would deliberate on strengthening and consolidating this support for further expansion of the Sangh work.

Dr Vaidya noted at the beginning of his interaction that the kids, youths and elderly, all alike are getting attracted to the RSS basically out of curiosity and a desire to know and understand the organization. Among them the number of those associated with IT sector is more and the number of those who joined RSS online swelled to 1.75 lakh from 15000 some years ago. The elite section too wants to come closer of the RSS and we are planning to reach out to them through our Sampark (Comunicaiton) Vibhag, he added.

He further said that the Sangh had initiated ‘Social Goodwill Meetings’ (Samajik Sadbhav Baithak) in 2007 during the birth centenary of the second Sarsanghchalak Sri Golwalkar Guruji. The Sang how intends to further intensify the series of such meetings to wipe out all the differences in our society and to make it harmonious and vibrant.

Dr Vaidya explained with examples that Sangh growth is slow but steady. He cited the recent ‘Rashtrodaya’ Shivir at Meerut in UP where 1,75 lakh swayamsevaks attended in full uniform. Similar such event was held two decades ago in 1998 which witnessed the participation of 20,000 swayamsevkas. The 2018 event reflected upon the steady growth the Sangh had achieved in the 20 year’s time, he said.

Replying to a question on desecration of statues in different parts of the country post Tripura elections, Dr Vaidya said that such incidents were unfortunate.

He said that the three day meeting would discuss and deliberate upon one or two resolutions and pass them in the course of the meeting. The elected representatives coming from all over the country would elect the new executive head – Sarkaryawah on the second day of the meeting, he said.
