Sigh of relief, Aadhaar no more mandatory as identity proof in exams for now

New Delhi March 8: Personifying Aadhaar card as a mandate in every sector, the masses had to link it to every available medium and it was availing for the students as well. Now, students can have a sigh of relief as the Supreme Court of India has ordered that Aadhaar will not be considered as a necessary identity proof, postponing the need of Aadhar card to appear for National Eligibility Entrance Exam (NEET).

However the students will have an alternative option as they can show driving license, passport, ration card or bank account number as their Identity proof for the National Eligibility Entrance Exam (NEET) and other all-India examinations.

In this regard, Chief Justice Dipak Misra replying to the petitioners said,‘Don’t worry, We will do it. Let the arguments be finished,’ who demanded not to make Aadhaar as a proof for entry to write the exam.

The order of not having mandatory of Aadhaar came after several states including Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Gujarat, West Bengal and Tamil Nadu strongly opposed the changes of their topic, stating that there was a huge change in the syllabus proposed by the Medical Council of India and the state syllabus.

Notably, the bench of four judges, have made it clear that it will extend the March 31 deadline for linking of Aadhaar with bank accounts and mobile numbers.

This is just until April as the SC has not completely squashed the order of postponing the need. So all you people out there preparing for your exams should work on it and the rest pertaining to use ill methods beware!
