Portal ‘Udyam Sakhi’ launched to encourage entrepreneurship qualities in women

New Delhi, March 8: Encouraging women and empowering them on a global platform, the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises launched a portal today on the International Women’s Day. The portal was launched by Minister of State for MSME Giriraj Singh highlighting the entrepreneurship qualities of women. 

Addressing and launching the portal, Singh said that in a country like India, there are 8 million women who have entrepreneurship traits. The portal www.udyamsakhi.org. has empowered the women and the women here have the caliber to start and run their own businesses and the Ministry of MSME believes that the women in India can play a vital role in the growth of the Indian economy.

 

This is a gateway of network for nurturing entrepreneurship and creating business models for low cost products and services in order to empower women and make them self-reliant and self-sufficient.

The threshold provides assistance through its platform for entrepreneurship learning tools, incubation facility, training programs for fund raising, providing mentors, and one-on-one investor meet, provide market survey facility and technical assistance.

Dr.Arun Kumar Panda, Secretary MSME addressed the women entrepreneurs attending the program and informed them that the Ministryis on the path of creating a vibrant MSME sector by promoting growth and development of this sector including Khadi, Village and Coir industries, in cooperation with the concerned ministries and departments, state governments and other stake holders.
