Congress is clean slate now, will soon present a revamped party: Rahul Gandhi

Singapore, March 9: Addressing students at the National University of Singapore, Congress President Rahul Gandhi said that his party is a 'clean slate' now and that he will present a revamped Congress which stands for the values Indians are born with and aspire to be.

"We see society as a system that has to be kept in balance. The BJP on the other hand is less concerned about peace and tranquility. We see very serious dangers of polarising society and risks arising from them," Congress Chief said.

Addressing students, Congress President said that 'an extremely nasty form of politics' is emerging in India and his party will surely 'defeat the BJP in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections'.

Gandhi blamed the PDP and the BJP alliance in J&K the reason for taking bad political decisions. He also said that India must have cordial relations with China.

Also, Congress President Rahul Gandhi had to face some tough questions during a QA session at an event in Singapore. One of the questioners asked RaGa, "The per capita income of India grew much less than the world average when your family ruled, but it grew faster when your family wasn't there." He tried to dodge it by saying that Rahul can be criticized to his face, but PM Modi can't be.

Gandhi on a Singapore and Malaysia visit as a part of his outreach to the Indian diaspora. He is scheduled to stay in Singapore on March 8 and March 9, following which he will leave for Malaysia on March 10.
