Bye to fossil fuel! 1st ever International Solar Alliance Summit to take place in India

New Delhi March 9: The world is ready, as first International Solar Alliance Summit, with 23 sunshine countries are set to meet on 11th of March to work on solar energy for reducing dependency on fossil fuels.
In this solar energy Initiative, India is working on four projects, which includes an off-grid power supply, street lighting, irrigation and solar cookers.To push ‘Make in India’, the government is making efforts on this to involve private sector also.
In this summit, the French president Emmanuel Macron will be a guest, who is in India, the other high-level delegations include Australia, Sri Lanka, Fiji, Ghana, Rwanda, Seychelles, Gabon, Niger, Bangladesh, UAE etc.The event will be held at the Rashtrapati Bhavan Convention Centre.
Notably, International Solar Alliance is an agreement of international body of 121 countries, for the promotion of solar energy, which is fully or partially between the Tropics of Cancer and Capricorn.
India’s PM Narendra Modi launched International Solar Alliance at United Nations Climate Change Conference (UNCCC) in Paris on November 2015.After, one-year Framework Agreement of the International Solar Alliance opened for the signature of sunshine countries in Marrakech, Morocco.
