BCCI should take final call on IPL matches in Chennai: Tamil Nadu Minister D. Jayakumar

Chennai, April 10: Days after the scorching comments of Superstar Rajanikanth on Indian Premier League matches in the state capital, Tamil Nadu Fisheries Minister, D. Jayakumar stated that BCCI should take the final call on the existing schedule of Indian Premier League matches amidst the state-wide protest on the issue of Cauvery.

A larger number of social groups, NGO and, political outfits are staging a protest against the Sterlite plant and demanding Cauvery Management Board to implement the supreme court’s verdict on inter-state water sharing dispute between Tamil Nadu and Karnataka.

His reaction came after several reports about the transfer of IPL matches from Tamil Nadu to Kerala were surfaced. The Minister assured that strict action will be taken against lawbreakers. Earlier, IPL chairman Rajeev Shukla clarified that IPL matches will take place as per schedule. He urged people not to politicize the grand cricketing event.
