IPL Commissioner Rajeev Shukla meets Union Home Secretary; assures full security for IPL match in Chennai

New Delhi/Chennai, April 10: Anticipating the massive protest against the first match of Indian premier league in Chennai, IPL Commissioner Rajeev Shukla today met Union Home Secretary Rajeev Gauba over the security arrangements in the state capital of Tamil Nadu. Speaking to the media after the high-level meeting, Shukla assured that state government has made all security arrangements for the much-awaited match IPL match in the backdrop of state-wide protest on the burning issue of Cauvery Management Board. He mentioned that the state agencies are capable of maintaining law and order in the state.

After the gap of two years, home team of Chennai Super Kings under the leadership of MS Dhoni will take on Dinesh Karthik’s Kolkata knight riders at MA Chidambaram Stadium. A larger number of social groups, NGO and, political outfits are staging a protest against the IPL matches in Tamil Nadu as a mark of protest against non-fulfillment of Cauvery Management Board by the center.
