Gujarat government clears mega Dholera Solar power project

Gandhinagar, April 11: Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rapani has cleared the mega project of a solar park at the Dholera Special Investment Region. With the generation capacity of 5000 MW, this would be the largest Solar driven power project in the world. In an official communication, state government mentioned that the proposed venture would strengthen the manufacturing sector of the state. It further states that near about 20,000 new employment opportunities will be generated.
With the whopping budget of Rs 25,000 crore, the most anticipated power plant would set up in 11,000 hectares in Dholera. Based on greenfield technology, the state government has acquired the platinum rating from green building council. Besides Solar Park, the state government has also approved the wind power generation plant.
