Five states to implement E-way bill from April 15

New Delhi, April 11: The Finance Ministry has decided to implement the E-way bill system in the five states of Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Kerala, Telangana and Uttar Pradesh.

The new system will help facilitate easier movement of goods and help boost the trade industry and is being implemented by the Goods and Services Tax Network (GSTN) in collaboration with NIC. 

The Ministry of Finance has also urged transporters to complete the registration in time using E-way portal.

“With the roll-out of e-Way Bill system in these States, it is expected that trade and industry will be further facilitated insofar as the transport of goods is concerned, thereby eventually paving the way for a nation-wide single e-Way Bill system. Trade and industry and transporters located in these States may obtain registration/ enrolment on e-Way Bill portal namely https://www.ewaybillgst.gov.in at the earliest without waiting for the last date,” Ministry said.

“E-way Bill system for Intra-State movement of goods in the State of Karnataka is also operational from the said date.”

E-Way Bills are getting generated successfully and till 09th April, 2018 more than sixty three lakh e-Way Bills have been successfully generated. Notably, businesses and transporters who'll be moving goods of Rs 50,000 or above from one state to another state will have to carry an electronic, or e-way bill.
