We need to start valuing girls and give equal opportunities as boys

New Delhi, April 11: “We need to give girls same opportunities as boys if we want them to be successful and healthy,” said Actress and UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador Priyanka Chopra while speaking at the Partners' Forum 2018 panel discussion #2018PMNCHLive. 

Stressing on the value of girl child, Priyanka said that “we need to start valuing girls. As a global community and as an Indian, I think one of the most important things we need to do is to start valuing the girl child.”

“I hope that by lending my voice I can make a difference to their lives,” she added. Across the world, girls have become community leaders due to the support of the community. Let's start valuing the girl child, she said.

While taking out time of her busy schedule Priyanka Chopra made it possible to come and attend the event and hope for making a difference with her voice. She spoke on the importance of child education in rural India.

Busy shooting for Quantico Season 3 in Ireland, Priyanka Chopra has come to the country for about 16 hours only to attend a UNICEF event in Delhi. The global icon lit the lamp and interacted with the delegates while being seated on the podium.

Actress Priyanka Chopra, an Indian star with a global fan following, was named UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador; was conferred this title due to her extensive work in child rights. The 34-year-old, who has been donating a tenth of her salary to the cause of women’s education, safety and empowerment through her NGO, The Priyanka Chopra Foundation for Health and Education.
