Srinagar, April 12: The National Investigating Agency (NIA) on Wednesday conducted raids at several places in Jammu and Kashmir including Trade Facilitation Centre (TFC), Chakan-Da-Bagh in Poonch district and seized some records for inspection.

However, the continued uninterrupted despite the NIA presence at the Trade Facilitation Centre. Confirming the raid, the official sources said that the NIA team from its New Delhi headquarters proceeded to Poonch yesterday and seized record pertaining to a cross-LoC trade of some businessmen.

“The NIA has registered First Information Report (FIR) under Regular Case 17 of 2016 in New Delhi following very credible and specific inputs that some of the traders were getting extra goods from PoK and part of the money generated from them was being pumped into the terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir,” the official sources added.

This was allegedly being done in-league with the terror networks of Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT), Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) and Hizbul Mujahideen (HM), who have their cadre in both Jammu and Kashmir and PoK,” sources concluded.

Importantly, under a barter system, some of the Jammu and Kashmir traders exported less quantity of goods but, in return, were given the high quantity of good items from PoK traders on the directions of the terrorist groups. The part of the extra amount generated by the traders in Jammu and Kashmir from additional goods was pumped into terrorism while rest was kept by the traders for them as a reward for helping terrorists.
