Kittur, April 13: Taking a jibe at Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s poll plans, Bharatiya Janata Party Chief Amit Shah said that anticipating the humiliating defeat, Siddaramaiah was compelled to shift his assembly segment from Varuna to Chamundeshwari. Speaking to the media, Shah predicted that BJP is all set to dethrone the corrupt Congress with a thumping majority in the upcoming battle of Karnataka. Shah stated that BJP government under the leadership of BS Yeddyurappa will take all possible steps to revive the governance of the state. Earlier, the BJP National President paid homage to the statue of the warrior queen of Kittur Rani Channamma.

According to media reports, the Chief Minister is keen on fielding his son Yathindra from Varuna. A seven-time lawmaker from Chamundeshwari shifted his assembly segment in 2008 as a part of the strategic move after delamination. This time, the senior Congress leader is once again pitching hard for Chamundeshwari seat. Siddaramaiah is seating member from Varuna seat. BJP National President Amit Shah is closely monitoring the developments of these seats where BJP does not have sizable political ground.
