Kathua Case: Opposition politicizing sensitive issues: BJP leader Meenakshi Lekhi

New Delhi, April 13: Responding to the Criticism of BJP government over the Kathua rape Case, BJP MP Meenakshi Lekhi said that opposition parties unnecessarily politicizing the sensitive issue. Addressing the press conference at BJP headquarter, Lekhi reiterated that strict action will be taken against the culprits.

The senior lawyer maintained that law enforcement agencies are in coordination with the Central government. The BJP spokesperson accused opposition members of conspiring against the central government. Lekhi stated that efforts taken by the state government are deliberately being ignored by detractors. She stressed that issues associated with women and children should be dealt seriously. The BJP leader appealed political class to refrain from piety mud-slinging. 

Commenting on the alleged campaigning of BJP lawmakers, Lekhi admitted that that two MLAs who supported the Kathua accused at rallies in Jammu and Kashmir had been 'misled'. The BJP leader opined that they could have avoided the public comments on rape case when J&K police were undergoing investigation
