New Delhi, April 13: “India is against the use of chemical weapons anywhere at any time by anybody under any circumstances,” says Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) official spokesperson Raveesh Kumar while addressing to the media on Thursday.

On asked Raveesh Kumar said, “India is against the use of chemical weapons anywhere at any time by anybody under any circumstances. We hope that this issue is resolved in accordance with the Chemical Weapons Convention so as to reach an evidence-based conclusion. India, like all other countries, awaits the outcome of the investigation.”

There are reports that the UK is keen on raising the issue at the Commonwealth Heads of the Government Meeting (CHOGM) to be held in London next week.

The nerve agent attack on Skripal has led to a diplomatic showdown with both the sides expelling each other's diplomats from their countries.

Britain and its allies have blamed Russia for carrying out the attack, the first offensive use of a nerve agent in Europe since World War II, sparking a major diplomatic crisis.

The Russian embassy in London said today that any secret relocation of the Skripals will "be seen as abduction or at least as their forced isolation".

The UK government says Russia was behind the poisoning, and Prime Minister Theresa May said Moscow was "culpable" for the attack.

But the Russian government denied any involvement and has accused the British of inventing a "fake story".
