Cauvery Board: DMK leader MK Stalin leader meets Tamil Nadu governor; threatens to intensify protest

Chennai, April 13: A day after the Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Tamil Nadu visit, leaders of Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam leaders today met Governor Banwarilal Purohit over the constitution of Cauvery Management Board. Speaking to the media, DMK Working President MK Stalin said that center must address the raging issue of inter-state water sharing between Karnataka and Tamil Nadu. Setting the deadline of May 3, the DKK leader demanded that center should initiate the process for Cauvery Management Board. Stalin treated that his outfit will continue the protest until the formation of Cauvery Management Board.

Yesterday, Makkal Needhi Maiam Chief Kamal Haasan also appealed Prime Minister Narendra Modi to constitute the much awaited Cauvery Management Board as per the directions of the apex court. A larger number of social groups, NGO and, political outfits are staging a protest over Cauvery Management Board to implement the supreme court’s verdict on inter-state water sharing dispute between Tamil Nadu and Karnataka.
