Rajasthan declares Parshuram Jayanti as a public holiday

Jaipur, April 13: Now in Rajasthan there will be a public holiday on Parshuram Jayanti. The state government has stamped this on Wednesday.

Before this, the optional holiday was given for the celebration of Parshuram Jayanti. The state government's annual calendar was also approved in the year 2018 on the occasion of Parshuram Jayanti. The General Administration Department of the state government, on Wednesday, issued a revised order and announced the change of the optional holiday on Parshuram Jayanti to a public holiday that is on April 18.

After this announcement, Brahmin organizations have welcomed the decision of the state government, expressing happiness. Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje has expressed gratitude. The office bearers of various Brahmin organizations say that for the last long time there was a demand of declaring Holiday on Parshuram Jayanti on behalf of Brahmin organizations.

Gaur Brahmin Mahasabha, which struggled continuously on the demand for the holiday, celebrated the government's decision while burning crackers in Jaipur. "The public holiday will benefit not only Brahmins, but the entire Hindu community. The reason being most marriages is held on Akshaya Tritiya, which coincides with Parshuram Jayanti," said Pankaj Pachlagiya, state president of the Mahasabha.
