Raipur, April 14: Assuring that the Centre will make sure that all the development projects assigned to the state will be developed at a war-footing, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that his aim is to remove the tag of 'backward' to the state.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, speaking in Chhattisgarh's Bijapur, said that if a person like him could become the Prime Minister of this country it was because of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar’s contributions.

"Babasaheb Ambedkar was highly-educated. If he wanted, he could've lived a comfortable life. But he didn't do so. He studied abroad, but he came back to India and gave his life to serve the poor," remarked PM Modi.

Hailing Babasaheb Ambedkar's work for India, Prime Minister Modi said, “If a person from a backward society like me could become the Prime Minister of India, it is because of Babasaheb Ambedkar’s contributions.”

If Bijapur can see development in 100 days then why can't the other districts witness the same? asks the Prime Minister. I came here to assure you that with all the development projects now Bijapur district will no longer be know as a backward district, he added furthermore.

"The first phase of Ayushman Bharat scheme has been started, in which efforts will be made to make major changes in primary health-related areas. In every major panchayat of the country, sub centers and primary health centers will be developed as a health and wellness center in about 1.5 lakh places, said PM Modi.

On the occasion of 127th Ambedkar Jayanti, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched India's first wellness centre under Ayushmaan Bharat and laid foundation stones of various projects of central & state government in Bijapur, Chhattisgarh. It is a part of the Centre's health insurance programme aimed at providing medical care for 10 crore poor families and provide a cover of Rs 5 lakh per family annually.

Also, PM Modi flagged off a train between Dalli Rajhara and Bhanupratappur and inaugurated a dialysis centre at the Bijapur hospital.
