Veteran actor Dharmendra, Producer Rajkumar Hirani to be honored with Raj Kapoor Award

Mumbai, April 16: Bollywood's evergreen actor Dharmendra will be conferred the Raj Kapoor Lifetime Achievement Award. Raj Kapoor Special Contribution Award will be given to Director Rajkumar Hirani. For the best contribution in the cinema, the Maharashtra government has selected Dharmendra and Rajkumar Hirani to award the award.

Maharashtra's Education and Culture Minister Vinod Tawde announced this through social media on Sunday. Minister Vinod Tawde tweeted, "For the Raj Kapoor Lifetime Achievement Award of the Government of Maharashtra, Dharmendra and Raj Kapoor are delighted to announce the name of Director Rajkumar Hirani for the Special Contribution Award.

 

Marathi Actor Vijay Chauhan and Actress Mrinal Kulkarni will also be honored by the Maharashtra government. Veteran actor Vijay Chavan, who has worked in films like Jatra and Jhapatali, will be given the prestigious V Shantaram Life Pride Award.

Mrinal Kulkarni, who has performed well on small and big screen in Marathi and Hindi, will receive the special V. Shantaram special contribution award. Maharashtra Government Minister Vinod Tawde congratulated him on giving information on Twitter.

These awards will be given by the state government during the 55th Maharashtra State Marathi Film Festival. A cash prize of Rs. 5 lakhs will be given to the winners of both Life Time Achievement Award and a cash award of Rs. 3 lakhs to the Contribution Awardees.

 

Dharmendra, who won the hearts of all the best in Hindi cinema, will soon be seen in the film Yamla Pagla Deewana again with his two sons. At the same time, Rajkumar Hirani, who has produced many super hit films like Munnabhai series, Three Idiots, and PK, is coming soon with Sanjay Dutt's biopic film.
