Dear The Washington Post,

When Donald Trump said “The Washington Post is far more fiction than fact," I didn’t paid much attention. After all who is bothered about a third world countries third grade publication?

If you are wondering why I am calling you a fiction newspaper of third world then compare USA with Pakistan. Apart from Pakistan, USA is the only country where kids are killed by guns in school. The only country whose nationals have killed more number of citizens of other nations with the backing of central government, other than Pakistan is USA. As per respectable news media from USA, not only your bridges and roads are crumbling, but even your airports are out of date and the vast majority of seaports are becoming obsolete. I don’t need to explain your problems with your education system and increase in population of homeless. Aren’t these the parameters of a third world country?

Anyway, few days back couple of my friends shared an article by a journalist (who is praised by UN declared terrorists, co-founder of Lashkar-e-Taiba and the chief of Jama'at-ud-Da'wah ) published by you, titled Hindu ‘nationalists’ defend accused rapists and shame India”. After going through the criteria to call Nationalist Hindus supporter of rapists, I thought of looking at your country’s statistics related to sex abuse.

An article titled “30 Alarming Statistics That Show The Reality Of Sexual Violence In America” published on 6 April 2017 in Huffpost says
  • 17,700,000 The estimated number of women who have been the victims of rape since 1998.
  • 99 The percentage of perpetrators of sexual violence that will walk free.
  • 16-19 The age range that women are four times more likely than the general population to be victims of rape, attempted rape or sexual assault. Female college students ages 18-24 are three times more likely than women in the general population to experience sexual violence.
  • 1 in 6 The fraction of American women who have survived an attempted or completed rape in their lifetimes.
  • 321,500 The average number of victims of rape and sexual assault per year in the U.S.
  • 60 The percentage of instances of sexual violence experienced by inmates that are perpetrated by jail or prison staff.
  • 400-1,500 The amount of money it costs to get a rape kit tested. According to the Violence Against Women Act, a survivor should never have to pay for their own rape kit, but many states have loopholes that force survivors to do just that.
  • 93 The percentage of child sexual abuse perpetrators who know their victim.
There is more to it.

2015 Child Maltreatment Report from The Children’s Bureau published in January 2017 says American children are suffering from a hidden epidemic of child abuse and neglect. It says, National child abuse estimates are well known for being under-reported. (Sign of a third world country). The report shows an increase in child abuse referrals from 3.6 million to 4 million. The number of children involved subsequently increased to 7.2 million from 6.6 million. The report also indicates an increase in child deaths from abuse and neglect to 1,670 in 2015, up from 1,580 in 2014. Some reports estimate child abuse fatalities at 1,740 or even higher.

The United States has one of the worst records among industrialized nations – losing on average almost five children every day to child abuse and neglect.

Michael Petit President of a non-profit, Every Child Matters Education Fund wrote in a news essay published by the British Broadcasting Corporation.

“Over the past 10 years, more than 20,000 American children are believed to have been killed in their own homes by family members. That is nearly four times the number of US soldiers killed in Iraq and Afghanistan. The child maltreatment death rate in the US is triple Canada’s and 11 times that of Italy. Millions of children are reported as abused and neglected every year.”

Going by the numbers and circumstances it won’t be wrong to call “USA a nation of Child abuser” or “USA a nation of rapists”. And your President is a fantastic ambassador for the same, going by the media reports about his sexcapades and his views about her own daughter.

And yes, USA is a Christian nation and number of popes and churches involvement in sex abuse especially when it comes to children, will you called Christianity a religion of rapists/sex abuser/ paedophile? Or the way Islam treats women; will you call Islam a religion of sex abusers?

Losing on average almost five children every day to child abuse and neglect, well it can be called Americans favourite past time, may be national sports.

It reminds me of Commonwealth games. You want to know how nationalist Hindus treat their daughters look at the medal tally of ongoing Commonwealth games.

Next time be careful, what you publish and whom you publish. Last time a respectable news brand employed the terrorist praised journalist whom you published, it resulted in it loosing viewers at such a high speed that today it is struggling to stand on its own feet. And yes, sooner or later an Indian will be your owner, (if you are still around the corner) and you will end up publishing benefits of Pan Masala, for more ask Pierce Brendan Brosnan.

Till then

Take Care
