Mumbai/New Delhi, April 17: BJP leader Subramanian Swamy today backed RSS Sarsanghchalak Mohan Bhagwat’s suggestion on Air India rights. Swamy took to Twitter and welcomed the statement of Bhagwat and asked the government to review the existing provisions of privatization.

During his recent address at Bombay stock exchange, the RSS Chief expressed concern about the financial health of national carrier. Commenting on the central government’s move on Air India, Bhagwat opined that the prestigious airline should be handed over to the national player instead of foreign firm. He further added that operations of foreign airlines might hamper the aerial security of the country.

Citing the example of Germany, where foreign stakes are limited to 29 percent, the RSS head suggested that government must give a second thought over the policy decisions of 49 percent stakes to foreign investors. In order to fine-tune the crash crunched Air India, the central government is planning to disinvest the national carrier.
