Bharat Band agitation: BSP Chief Mayawati condemns violence; denies BSP’s involvement

Lucknow, April 2: Bahujan Samaj Party Chief Mayawati today condemned the incidents of unruly violence during the nation-wide Bharat Bandh protest against the ruling of the Supreme Count on SC/ST Protection act. According to media reports, the agitation turned violent and 4 people in Madhya Pradesh lost their lives and several policemen and others were injured.
 
Speaking to the media, the BSP Chief demanded that culprits involved in the heinous act should not be spared at any cost and Strict action should be taken against those who spread violence during the protests.Taking a serious note of the development, the former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister stated that though she backed the peaceful protest, her party does not support such kind the violent activities. He further added that BSP members are is not behind the violence during the protests.

According to senior Madhya Pradesh Cop, forces are trying their best to restore peace and order. He further added that cases under serious charges have been filed against the anti-social elements. A nationwide protest has been organized by the political parties and various SC/ST organizations against the recent judgment of the apex court over SC/ST protection act.
